About the Role Reporting into senior leadership, this newly created Senior Credit Manager will play a pivotal role in overseeing the organisation’s credit function, ensuring effective risk management while supporting commercial outcomes. You will lead and develop a new high-performing team, drive strategic credit initiatives, and maintain strong relationships with key internal and external stakeholders. Key responsibilities include: – Leading the end-to-end credit management function – Developing and implementing credit risk policies and procedures – Monitoring and assessing customer creditworthiness and exposure – Managing collections strategy and improving cash flow outcomes – Partnering with sales and finance teams to support growth while mitigating risk – Providing reporting, insights, and recommendations to senior stakeholders – Driving process improvements, systems enhancements, and compliance standards What You Bring to the Role Proven experience in a senior credit or risk management role, ideally within the mortgages or commercial lending sector in a non bank lender. Strong leadership capability with experience managing and developing teams is deal, but you could also be an emerging leader. In-depth knowledge of the credit decisioning process in a small to medium lender and ability to balance commercial decision-making with risk management principles is ideal. You also display strong stakeholder engagement and influencing skills and enjoy driving process improvement and operational efficiencies. Excellent communication skills with the ability to present to senior leadership are essential and relevant qualifications in finance, accounting, or a related discipline are desirable.
