Reporting directly to the Chief Information Officer, the IT Support Officer will be responsible for the day-to-day operational functions. This includes delivering and maintaining IT projects and providing network support, primarily at the Deflector mine, as well as supporting the nearby Rothsay Mine. This position will be offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth. Key responsibilities of this role will include: Ensuring service desk tickets are effectively managed and service levels are exceeded. Ensuring clients are kept up to date with resolution efforts on current incidents. Contributing to the documentation of IT Policies and Procedures. Logging calls in the ticketing system, and to update calls as action is taken. Installing and configuring computer hardware, software, systems, networks, printers and scanners. Installing, investigating, diagnosing and solving computer software and hardware faults. Managing stocks of equipment, consumables and other supplies. Installing and maintaining operating systems, network and application software on desktop computers. Maintaining regular housekeeping procedures, including data de-duplication, data backups, network optimisation and storage optimisation. Conducting training in systems use and access. Continuously monitoring and maintaining system access and security. About You Previous experience working in a similar position, within a mining environment. Experience in or sound knowledge of Microsoft technologies, such as Active Directory and MS Office suite Outstanding organisational skills to manage high volumes of cases and deal with multiple clients and vendors Basic understanding of network technologies, such as switching, routing, and firewalls Knowledge in Windows Server 2008 R2 / 2012 / 2016; Microsoft Exchange 2010 / 2013 / 2016 & Windows 7/8.1/10 Critical thinking skills and the ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines. Basic understanding of Networking (LAN, VLAN, TCP/IP etc…) Demonstrated analytical, and problem-solving skills and commitment to providing a high level of customer service.
