We are seeking an experience, enthusiastic and passionate Trainer and Assessor for our college. As a trainer and Assessor, you will play a crucial role in delivering high-quality vocational education and training to students in a supportive and encouraging environment. The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate their ability to: Deliver training and assessment in accordance with the relevant Training Packages, the 2025 Standards for RTOs, and Encourage Training College’s Training and Assessment Strategies. Prepare, plan, and teach subject material across allocated units, tailoring delivery for both face-to-face and online learning environments. Develop, update, and maintain teaching aids, course materials, and instructional content to ensure relevance, engagement, and compliance with regulatory guidelines. Assess and reassess student competence against the Training Package requirements and Encourage Training College’s policies, providing constructive feedback to support learning and skill development. Identify individual student learning needs and implement effective strategies to accommodate diverse learners and ensure optimal learning outcomes. Conduct scheduled placement visits to aged care facilities to observe students, gather feedback, and provide practical guidance in real-world settings. Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of student attendance, progress, assessment outcomes, and training activities. Facilitate practical and theoretical training in areas such as First Aid (HLTAID009–HLTAID012), CPR, Manual Handling, and Medication Administration, incorporating interactive exercises and real-life scenarios to enhance skill acquisition and knowledge retention. Advise and support students on course selection, learning pathways, and related educational matters. Liaise with industry stakeholders, educational staff, and support services to ensure training programs remain relevant, effective, and aligned with industry standards. Consult with Education Managers, Librarians, Student Counsellors, and other support staff to enhance program delivery and student support services. Monitor and evaluate student performance through assignments, practical assessments, and examinations, providing timely and clear feedback to foster student growth and competency. Skills and Experience Required Deliver and assess nationally recognised qualifications in accordance with Training Package requirements, RTO policies, and ASQA compliance standards. Hold relevant vocational qualifications at least to the level being delivered and assessed. Possess - CHC43015 Certificate IV in Ageing Support (or equivalent qualifications). Hold a current TAE40122 Certificate IV in Training and Assessment (or an equivalent qualification as prescribed by the Standards for RTOs). Have a minimum of one year’s experience as a Trainer and Assessor within the Vocational Education and Training (VET) sector. Demonstrate recent and relevant industry experience with in care sector. Exhibit strong presentation, facilitation, and communication skills, with the ability to engage learners in both classroom and online environments. Be passionate about supporting students and providing guidance and mentorship throughout their learning journey. Possess excellent organisational, administrative, and record-keeping skills. Hold a current Working with Children Check (or be willing to obtain one). Hold a current National Police Check (or be willing to obtain one). Be willing and able to conduct workplace assessments and student visits at host organisations; a current driver's licence is highly desirable.
