Job Title Ashurst Reach Legal Consultant – Banking & Finance lawyer - Sydney Location Sydney Description The Opportunity: 3-6 months (with possibility of extension) Full time (hybrid) Sydney This is an opportunity to join an organisation in the financial services sector Build your portfolio legal career with this well-known business About You: You are an experienced banking and finance lawyer You have financial markets experience (eg. derivatives, equities, fixed income, securities regulation, structured products) You have the ability to assist with transactional, regulatory and advisory work across cleared and OTC swap documentation (ISDA/CSA and CDEAs), prime brokerage documentation, repo and securities lending and internal project work You have the ability to support the Markets business and engage directly with other internal stakeholders Familiarity of Chapter 7 of the Corporations Act, ASIC regulatory guidance and market integrity rules would be an advantage You are capable of working with reasonable independence under supervision You are comfortable taking ownership of tasks and managing your workload, without the need for constant direction A strong generalist banking and finance lawyer (e. with lending or broader transactional experience) with strong attention to detail and a willingness to learn the relevant financial products and regulatory framework, will also be considered You have the ability to hit the ground running and adapt quickly to the needs of a fast-moving in-house environment You have a minimum of 8 years' experience You have the ability to understand and adapt to the needs of the organisation You have a current practising certificate You have the right to live and work in Australia Ashurst Reach: Ashurst Reach is Ashurst's dedicated flexible legal resourcing platform which provides the firm's clients and Practice Groups within the firm with access to a high quality talent pool of lawyers and paralegals.
