About HRG is supporting a priority search for a Lead Owner’s Engineer / Principal Technical Representative for the Parron Windfarm project in Western Australia. This is a high profile opportunity to play a key role on a major renewable energy and transmission infrastructure project, supporting Western Power related works across 330 kV and 132 kV transmission and grid connection infrastructure. The project team is being prepared now, and the Lead Owner’s Engineer is the critical appointment. The successful candidate will be named in the project proposal and will be reviewed by Western Power if the submission is successful. If you have senior HV transmission, substation, site representative or owner’s engineer experience, this is a strong opportunity to step into a visible, technically important role on a major WA energy project. The Opportunity This role will suit a chartered senior engineer who can operate confidently as the client side technical authority on site. You will be responsible for providing senior technical oversight across transmission and substation construction activities, including towers, poles, foundations, stringing works, 330 kV and 132 kV infrastructure, site quality, technical queries, non conformance management, hold points, witness points and reporting to Western Power. This is not a desk based design role. It is a senior site facing technical representative position where your judgement, experience and credibility will matter. You will be working between a Perth CBD base office and site near Hill River, approximately 200 km north of Perth. You will have the opportunity to: Take a senior representative role on a major Western Australian energy project Work across 330 kV and 132 kV transmission and grid connection infrastructure Interface with Western Power site personnel Apply your HV construction, quality and technical oversight experience in a visible role Be part of a project that supports renewable energy infrastructure in WA Secure a long term project engagement with an expected 18 month duration Work with a highly regarded engineering team on a major utility connected project Key Responsibilities In this role, you will: Act as the senior technical representative on site Support Western Power related site oversight and reporting Interface with seller side and project delivery representatives Oversee transmission line and substation construction activities Review construction methodology plans Attend hold points and witness points Issue, manage and support close out of NCRs Manage technical queries and coordinate formal responses Chair progress meetings and ad hoc technical reviews Prepare weekly and monthly reporting for Western Power Support construction quality, site assurance and compliance processes Work closely with site engineering, site management and QA personnel Support safe delivery in line with WA WHS requirements What We Are Looking For We are keen to speak with senior professionals who have worked in roles such as: Lead Owner’s Engineer Principal Technical Representative Owner’s Representative Client Representative Authorised Representative Superintendent’s Representative Resident Engineer Site Representative Construction Surveillance Engineer Transmission Line Engineer HV Substation Engineer Principal Electrical Engineer Technical Advisor Independent Engineer The strongest candidates will bring: Chartered status, CPEng or equivalent professional registration Around 15 plus years of relevant HV infrastructure experience 330 kV and or 132 kV transmission or substation construction exposure Prior owner’s engineer, client representative or authorised representative experience Strong site based construction surveillance experience Experience with towers, poles, foundations, stringing, substations or switchyards Experience managing NCRs, ITPs, ITRs, hold points and witness points Ability to chair meetings, manage technical queries and prepare formal reporting Western Power, SWIS, SWIN or WA utility infrastructure experience Strong communication skills and the confidence to represent a principal or utility on site Project Details Location: Perth CBD base office and Hill River WA site Site Distance: Approximately 200 km north of Perth Roster: 10 days on and 4 days off Work Split: Approximately 60% Site & 40% Office Start Date: July 2026, subject to contract award Duration: Approximately 18 months, with possible extension Accommodation: Site accommodation provided Travel: Travel from Perth CBD or Perth Airport to site provided WA based candidates are preferred, however strong interstate candidates may also be considered.
