APS6 Assistant Project Manager Duration: 12 months with the opportunity for 2 x 12-month extensions Location: Canberra, ACT Security Clearance: Negative Vetting Level 1 Hourly Rate: $60 - $70 About the Role Our Federal government client is seeking an Assistant Project Manager to support the delivery and transition of support systems within a complex operational environment. This role contributes to project management, engineering support, and system integration activities, ensuring the successful introduction and sustainment of mission-critical capabilities. You will coordinate project activities, manage risks, and work closely with stakeholders to deliver effective outcomes aligned with operational needs. Key Responsibilities Assist with management and transition of surveillance capabilities Support project planning, engineering activities, and delivery outcomes Review service provider project plans and technical documentation Maintain project schedules and support critical path management Manage risks, budgets, and timelines in line with contract frameworks Coordinate procurement and management of furnished materials and information Prepare performance reports, briefings, and technical documentation Engage stakeholders to ensure solutions meet operational requirements Support system integration and security accreditation processes Travel to operational locations to support testing and assurance activities Skills and Experience Mandatory: Ability to obtain and maintain NV1 security clearance and employment suitability Formal qualifications in Engineering or a related discipline Experience applying project and risk management principles Experience across the engineering lifecycle , including asset management and reliability engineering Ability to work autonomously, solve problems, and make decisions under pressure Strong stakeholder engagement and communication skills Demonstrated commitment to safety and risk-based engineering practices How to Apply: To apply, click the Apply Now button and send your up-to-date resume, for a confidential discussion call us now on 02 5119 3133.
