The Opportunity This is a broad and commercially focused Finance Manager role offering exposure across financial control, project accounting, and business partnering in a dynamic project environment. You will work closely with senior leadership and project teams, ensuring the integrity of financial reporting while providing insight to support decision making. Key Responsibilities Financial Control and Reporting Own the month end process with a three to five day close target Prepare P&L, balance sheet, cashflow and variance analysis Manage statutory compliance including BAS, GST, payroll tax and FBT Maintain accurate financial records across multiple entities in Australia and internationally Project Accounting and Commercial Support Oversee WIP, revenue recognition and project profitability Partner with Project Managers on budgeting, forecasting and fee tracking Provide margin and utilisation insights Ensure accurate and timely project invoicing Cashflow and Working Capital Prepare weekly cashflow forecasts Drive debtor management and credit control Support working capital optimisation Operations and Team Management Oversee AP, AR, payroll and finance operations with support from an administrator Maintain and improve finance processes and internal controls Act as system owner for Xero and related platforms Business Support Provide financial insights to leadership and project teams Support budgeting and reforecasting processes Contribute to pricing, procurement and commercial decisions About You CA or CPA qualified Around 8 to 12 years experience in finance roles Proven experience delivering financial reporting in smaller businesses, ideally under $15m turnover Strong experience in project based environments such as engineering, construction or consulting Advanced Xero capability Strong understanding of month end reporting, statutory compliance and WIP Strong Excel and analytical skills Confident communicator able to work closely with non finance stakeholders Hands on, organised and comfortable working in a lean team What's on Offer High level of ownership and autonomy Exposure to senior leadership and commercial decision making Opportunity to improve systems and processes Work in a collaborative and technically driven business delivering meaningful infrastructure projects
