The role is responsible for leading clinical practice,workforce performance, and service delivery while fostering a culture of professionalism, accountability, andcontinuous improvement. The Surgical Unit delivers care across a diverse patient cohort, including surgical,medical, maternity, paediatric, and surgical day-stay inpatients.The NUM plays a critical role in translating organisational strategy into effective ward-level practice, ensuring clinicalexcellence, efficient resource utilisation, and compliance with relevant standards, policies, and legislativerequirements.
