About the Role An exciting opportunity exists for an experienced Senior Advisor, Parliament and Government Services to support a major government-owned energy and infrastructure organisation in delivering its Ministerial, Parliamentary and Cabinet obligations. This role is responsible for providing high-level advisory, coordination and assurance services to ensure the organisation meets all governance, reporting and executive communication requirements. You will play a key role in preparing and reviewing ministerial briefs, Cabinet submissions, parliamentary responses and executive correspondence, ensuring accuracy, consistency and compliance with government standards. Operating in a fast-paced and politically sensitive environment, this position requires strong judgement, exceptional written communication skills and the ability to manage competing priorities while responding to shifting Ministerial and Cabinet expectations. Position : Senior Advisor, Parliament and Government Services Location : Sydney CBD Working Arrangement: Hybrid Rate : $800 – $1,000 super per day Duration : 12 months Start Date : ASAP Key Responsibilities Prepare, review and coordinate ministerial briefs, Cabinet submissions, parliamentary responses and executive correspondence Provide expert advice on Parliamentary, Cabinet and Ministerial processes, protocols and governance requirements Monitor, track and manage parliamentary and government reporting obligations within strict timeframes Liaise with internal divisions and external government stakeholders to ensure alignment and consistent messaging Support executive leadership with strategic advice, issue management and briefing preparation for senior forums Contribute to governance reporting, compliance frameworks and continuous improvement of parliamentary processes Manage multiple competing priorities across high-pressure, deadline-driven workstreams Develop high-quality briefing packs, presentations and communication materials for senior decision-makers Support risk identification, escalation and resolution relating to parliamentary and government obligations Build and maintain strong working relationships across government agencies, departments and executive stakeholders About You Proven experience in government, public sector or ministerial advisory roles (Grade 9/10 equivalent capability) Strong understanding of Parliamentary, Cabinet and Ministerial processes and governance frameworks Demonstrated experience preparing ministerial briefs, Cabinet submissions and executive-level correspondence Exceptional written communication skills with strong attention to detail and accuracy under pressure Experience working in politically sensitive environments with shifting priorities and tight deadlines Strong stakeholder engagement skills across government agencies, executives and internal teams Ability to manage competing priorities and multiple concurrent deliverables effectively Sound judgement, analytical thinking and issue resolution capability Experience in governance, ministerial liaison, policy coordination or government reporting highly regarded Tertiary qualifications in public policy, law, government, communications or a related discipline (or equivalent experience) Full Australian working rights required (no sponsorship available) As a mandatory requirement for this contract role required by our client, applicants are kindly asked to complete a compliance check and upload their work rights verification at www.charterdiligence.com.au/portal.
