The role Full Time, Fixed Term (up to 5 years) Senior remuneration package in the range of $208,921 to $261,151 (including superannuation) Flexible across Charles Sturt University campuses (or remote) with some travel to regional campuses required As Director, Financial Planning and Analysis, you will play a key role in influencing the organisation’s financial strategy, overseeing financial modelling, budgeting and in-year forecasting and reporting. Reporting to the Deputy Chief Financial Officer, you’ll provide high-quality financial insights to the Executive Leadership Team, Committees and Council, influencing decisions at the highest level. You’ll drive financial sustainability through short, medium and long term planning horizons, lead complex analysis and costing for major initiatives, and foster a culture of accountability through transparent reporting and strong stakeholder engagement. This role also includes leading and developing a high-performing FP&A team while partnering closely across finance and the broader organisation to deliver strategic outcomes. This position may be located at any Charles Sturt University campus, with flexible and remote working arrangements considered. Regular travel across campuses will be required to support operational priorities. This appointment is subject to the satisfactory completion of comprehensive pre-employment checks, including criminal history, financial probity (credit, bankruptcy and insolvency), and regulatory compliance screening. About you You are a strategic and influential finance leader who thrives in complexity and brings clarity, insight and direction to senior decision making. CPA or CA qualified with extensive experience in financial planning and analysis, alongside broader finance disciplines Proven senior leadership experience delivering budgets, forecasting and long-term financial modelling in complex organisations Commercially astute with strong analytical capability and sound judgement to evaluate business cases and drive value Exceptional communicator, able to influence and partner effectively with executive stakeholders and governance committees Experienced people leader with a track record of building high-performing teams and lifting capability Collaborative and adaptable, with the ability to navigate complexity and deliver outcomes across diverse stakeholder groups About us Learn more about the Division of Finance here.
