The Kids Research Institute Australia delivers the Centre’s laboratory research arm via its cancer research teams and works alongside clinicians to improve childhood cancer outcomes. The Project Coordinator plays a vital role in supporting the smooth and effective operation of the WA Comprehensive Kids Cancer Centre, contributing to both its strategic initiatives and day-to-day activities. The role provides high-level project, administrative, logistical, and operational support to the Centre’s Leadership Team, researchers, clinicians, students and stakeholders. Acting as a key point of contact for internal and external partners, this role supports a broad range of functions including recruitment, events and project delivery to ensure efficient and professional operations across the Centre. Key responsibilities: Support tracking of Centre milestones, deliverables, and objectives including monitoring actions, following up outstanding items and assisting with preparation of reports. Ensure accurate project management to ensure on time and effective project delivery. Maintain sound financial management practices including management of financial projects in financial system. Plan and coordinate a high volume of events including workshops, meetings, and the annual retreat. Prepare high-quality documents, presentations and spreadsheets tailored to a variety of audiences as required. Establish and maintain effective relationships with a broad range of internal and external stakeholders through proactive and professional communication. Based in our modern offices within Perth Children’s Hospital, this 0.8 FTE - full time position will be offered on an ongoing basis. About You The successful candidate will hold a tertiary qualification in a health or science-related field or will have other relevant experience. You will also demonstrate: Experience in a busy project management / administrative role. Excellent verbal, written and interpersonal communication skills with the ability to build strong relationships across a wide range of internal and external stakeholders. Exceptional organisational skills with a high level of attention to detail and a proven ability to show initiative. Event management experience from initial enquiry through to post-event evaluation. Ability to manage a varied workload, prioritise competing demands, and meet deadlines in a fast-paced research environment.
