This is an outstanding opportunity to step into a high-performing, partner-led practice acting for leading medical defence organisations, insurers, private hospitals, and major healthcare entities across Australia. In this role, you will work closely with a highly experienced and collegiate team, gaining direct access to complex, high-profile matters, including civil litigation, coronial inquests, regulatory investigations, and disciplinary proceedings. You will take on end-to-end carriage of matters and play a key role in delivering strategic, high-quality advice to clients navigating sensitive and high-stakes health and regulatory issues, while building strong, long-term client relationships within a national platform. What's on Offer Direct access to senior practitioners and a collegiate, partner-led team environment Exposure to complex, high-value health, medical indemnity, and regulatory matters Significant client engagement and end-to-end matter responsibility Strong career development pathways within a rapidly growing national firm platform Transparent bonus structure rewarding high performance Flexible working arrangements and supportive team culture Key Responsibilities Managing a diverse range of health law matters from instruction through to resolution Advising clients including insurers, hospitals, medical defence organisations, and health practitioners Acting in complex civil litigation, coronial inquests, and regulatory proceedings Managing regulatory complaints and investigations involving AHPRA/OHO and QCAT proceedings Handling statutory investigations, clinical reviews, and commissions of inquiry Appearing in mediations, witness interviews, inquests, and disciplinary hearings Building and maintaining strong client relationships across health and medico-legal matters Supporting business development and contributing to the growth of the national practice About You Bachelor of Laws (LLB) or equivalent and admitted (or eligible for admission) in Queensland Associate level experience (approximately 3 years PAE) in health, medical indemnity, or regulatory law Experience in litigation and/or regulatory investigations within a health context Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to engage sophisticated clients including insurers and healthcare executives Strong drafting, advisory, and matter management skills How to Apply To apply or for a confidential discussion, please contact Rutherford Kennedy, Senior Legal Recruitment Consultant at HarperLloyd Recruitment, on 0483 956 099 or via email at rutherford@harperlloyd.com.au .
