Reporting directly to the HSEQ Lead – Resources, you will work closely with the Group Safety Manager and operational leaders to support the ongoing development and implementation of Matic Group’s HSEQ strategy. This role is highly visible and operationally focused, offering strong engagement with frontline workers, supervisors, management, and clients. You will play a key role in influencing safety outcomes, supporting continuous improvement initiatives, and helping maintain a positive and proactive safety culture across our Pilbara operations. Key Responsibilities Legislative & Regulatory Compliance Provide guidance and support to operational teams regarding WHS legislation, regulations, standards, and codes of practice. Assist in maintaining compliance across diverse transport and logistics operations. Support leaders in understanding and managing their WHS obligations. HSEQ Systems & Risk Management Contribute to the ongoing development and continuous improvement of Matic Group’s HSEQ systems and frameworks. Assist in implementing practical risk controls and safety initiatives across operational sites. Participate in risk assessments, audits, inspections, and critical control verification activities. Operational Safety Leadership Support operational teams through regular field engagement, coaching, and mentoring. Promote positive safety behaviours and help strengthen a proactive “Safety First” culture. Build strong relationships with drivers, operators, supervisors, and clients. Incident Investigations & Improvement Assist with WHS investigations, root cause analysis, and corrective action management. Ensure incidents, hazards, and corrective actions are managed effectively and closed out in a timely manner. Identify opportunities for continuous improvement and support implementation of practical solutions. Training & Awareness Assist with the development and delivery of engaging safety communications, toolbox talks, and training initiatives. Promote awareness of critical risks, psychosocial hazards, and safe work practices. Support leaders in maintaining a healthy and supportive work environment. To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Tertiary qualifications in Workplace Health & Safety. Minimum 3–5 years’ experience in a WHS/HSEQ role. Strong understanding of WHS legislation, regulations, standards, and risk management principles. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to engage effectively across all levels of the business. Strong problem-solving and analytical skills with a practical approach to safety management. Ability to coach, influence, and build positive working relationships with operational personnel. Experience conducting investigations, audits, inspections, and risk assessments. A proactive attitude with a strong commitment to continuous improvement and operational safety outcomes. Ability to travel domestically within Western Australia as required. Previous experience within transport, logistics, mining, or heavy industry will be highly regarded.
