OCTA OCTA is seeking an experienced HSEQ Advisor to join our Perth team, supporting business units that design, build, own, and operate integrated clean energy solutions for remote mining operations, communities, and industry across Australia. The role combines systems, assurance, and operational HSEQ support, providing exposure across both corporate and operational environments, including major hazard facilities, renewable energy infrastructure, LNG logistics, and pipeline operations. Role Purpose This role is responsible for supporting the implementation and operation of OCTA Group’s Integrated Management System (IMS). The position ensures that HSEQ processes are effectively embedded across the business, providing both compliance oversight and hands-on support to business units in managing health, safety, environmental, and quality risks. Key Responsibilities IMS Systems & Document Control Maintain and update the Integrated Management System (IMS), including procedures, templates, and records Ensure effective document control and version management Support continuous improvement of HSEQ systems and processes Assist in embedding the “80% standard / 20% BU flexibility” approach Assurance & Audit Plan and conduct internal HSEQ audits across business units Track and follow up corrective and preventive actions (CAPAs) Support external audits and certification processes Monitor compliance with legal and internal requirements Risk & Performance Management Custodian to HSEQ risk registers and support risk assessments Support required Technical Safety Studies required for Projects Track key HSEQ performance indicators (KPIs) including Critical Control Monitoring of Major Hazard facilities Prepare regular HSEQ reports and dashboards through digital tools Identify trends and support improvement actions Operational HSEQ Support Provide day-to-day HSEQ support to four BUs and projects under the OCTA umbrella Conduct site visits, inspections, and safety observations Support incident investigations Assist in managing and supporting required risk management tools and safe work practices Training & Coaching Deliver HSEQ training sessions Coach operational managers and supervisors on HSEQ responsibilities Support development of operational leaders within business units Promote a positive safety and quality culture Incident & Corrective Action Management Support reporting and investigation of incidents Monitor closure of corrective actions Manage lessons learned board across the OCTA organisation Key Relationships Internal: Group HSEQ Manager Business Unit General Managers Project / Site Team Managers Operational Teams External: Auditors and certification bodies Contractors and Regulators (as required) Skills and Experience: Experience in HSEQ systems, auditing, or operational safety roles Working knowledge of ISO 9001, ISO 14001, and ISO 45001 standards Experience conducting audits and incident investigations Strong understanding of operational risk management Ability to work independently across multiple business units Key Competencies Strong organisational and systems thinking Attention to detail and move beyond compliance focus mindset Practical problem-solving ability Effective communication and coaching skills Ability to balance office-based systems work with field activities Working Model This is a hybrid role combining: 40% systems, reporting, and assurance 60% operational HSEQ support The role requires flexibility to support multiple business units and travel to sites as needed.
