Gateway Milling is a new feed mill venture jointly owned by Westpork and Thompson and Redwood – two leading agribusinesses in Western Australia. Our strategic direction is to ensure delivery of locally sourced, nutritionally balanced feed that supports healthy animal growth and strengthen our integrated supply chain. We are seeking a trade-qualified Mechanical Fitter to join our feed mill maintenance team. In this hands-on role you will be responsible for planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across a range of feed mill equipment and production machinery. Our feed mill operates 5 days per week, 24 hours per day. About the Role This is a hands-on role responsible for planned, preventative and reactive maintenance across feed mill equipment and plant. You’ll bring a proactive approach to safety, teamwork and problem solving, with flexibility to support operational needs, including varied shifts and occasional weekend work. Key Responsibilities Attend to breakdowns and repairs of production machinery in a timely manner to minimise unplanned downtime Fault find on hydraulic, pneumatic and complex mechanical systems Support machinery installations and minor plant modifications Assist in developing and improving maintenance programs Maintain accurate maintenance records and report faults, hazards and safety concerns Ensure compliance with workplace safety standards and quality assurance practices Monitor and manage spare parts inventory What You will bring Essential Experience & Skills Mechanical Trade qualification Experience maintaining industrial or FMCG manufacturing equipment Breakdown and preventive maintenance experience Steel fabrication and welding capability Strong commitment to workplace health and safety Reliable, proactive and team-focused approach Desirable Experience with stockfeed or food manufacturing processes Knowledge of packaging and bagging machinery Working at Heights, Confined Space or Forklift licence Basic computer skills for maintenance reporting (e.g. Excel) Personal Attributes Calm, methodical problem solver who can diagnose faults quickly and stay focused under pressure Reliable, proactive, and safety-focused mindset with a commitment to workplace health and safety standards Team-oriented attitude with flexibility to work varied shifts and support operational needs, including occasional weekends Good organisational and communication skills, including accurate record-keeping, reporting, and managing maintenance tasks efficiently
