The Opportunity: As a HSEQ Advisor you will provide HSEQ advice and support to project teams in maintaining compliance and the achievement of the Company’s business HSEQ goals and objectives, under the guidance of the HSEQ Manager. You will be part of a proactive team that thrives on ensuring the Company’s HSEQ standards are the primary priority. You will be responsible for: Update, implement and drive safety procedures, policies, SWMS, and processes Conduct audits, site inspections and walkthroughs Assist with incident investigation, reports and actions Attend and actively participate in pre-start meetings and toolbox talks Liaise and interact with stakeholders, clients, and subcontractors in HSE desirables Assist operational teams in complying with the HSE Management system Develop and implement new HSE initiatives Communicate HSE requirements to project teams Support risk identification and management processes to ensure risk of work activities Review subcontractor management systems and processes, and report on compliance with HSEQ management system requirements Provide mentoring/coaching to Civcon team members to enhance HSEQ outcomes The successful candidate will possess the following skills and experience: Cert IV/Diploma qualification or greater in Occupational Health and Safety Minimum of 5 years’ experience working in the civil construction industry and minimum of 3 years as a HSE Advisor Construction White Card Senior First Aid Certificate (desirable) Excellent written and verbal communication skills Computer literacy in Microsoft office suite Good time management Current C class Drivers Licence Drug & Alcohol testing (desirable) Experience working with ISO 9001, 14001, 45001 and Federal Safety Commission Accreditation (desirable) Outstanding communication skills with the ability to influence project teams to improve HSEQ onsite Why Civcon: At Civcon, our people are our greatest investment and we are committed to investing in our people and creating a workplace where you can grow and have a sense of belonging.
