Working closely with the Centre Director, you will play a key role in maintaining high-quality education and care, supporting educators, fostering positive relationships with families, and ensuring compliance with the National Quality Framework. About the Role As the Early Childhood Educator / 2IC, you will support the Director in the day-to-day management of the service while leading by example in the delivery of exceptional educational programs for children aged 3–5 years. You will contribute to creating a safe, nurturing, and inspiring environment where children can thrive and where educators feel supported to achieve their best. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Operations Support the Director in the daily operation of the service. Provide leadership, mentoring, and guidance to educators and staff. Assist in maintaining compliance with the National Quality Framework (NQF), National Quality Standard (NQS), and relevant legislation. Contribute to the development, implementation, and review of the Quality Improvement Plan (QIP). Support staff performance, professional development, and continuous improvement initiatives. Act as Responsible Person and/or Nominated Supervisor when required. Educational Leadership Develop and implement engaging, play-based learning programs aligned with the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF). Support educators in planning, documenting, and evaluating children's learning and development. Foster inclusive practices that recognise and celebrate the unique strengths, interests, and backgrounds of every child. Promote high-quality teaching practices through mentoring, collaboration, and reflective practice. Stay informed of contemporary early childhood research and best practice. Child Safety & Wellbeing Champion a strong child-safe culture throughout the service. Ensure children's safety, wellbeing, rights, and best interests remain at the centre of all decision-making. Support compliance with child protection legislation, mandatory reporting requirements, and service policies. Maintain effective supervision practices and educator-to-child ratios. Promote safe environments through risk management, WHS practices, and adherence to health and safety procedures. Family & Community Engagement Build strong, respectful relationships with children, families, and the wider community. Communicate children's progress and learning in meaningful ways. Encourage family participation and collaboration within the educational program. What We're Looking For Essential Qualifications Diploma in Early Childhood Education and Care, Bachelor of Early Childhood Education, or ACECQA-approved equivalent qualification. Current Working With Children Check. Current First Aid, CPR, Asthma and Anaphylaxis certification. Current Child Protection Training. National Child Safety Training. Essential Experience Minimum 3 years' experience in an early childhood education setting. Previous leadership, room leader, educational leader, or 2IC experience highly regarded. Strong understanding of: Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) V2.0 National Quality Framework (NQF) National Quality Standard (NQS) Education and Care Services National Law and Regulations Child Protection requirements Family Assistance Law and Child Care Subsidy requirements Excellent organisational, communication, and leadership skills.
