This government agency is responsible for the sustainable management of Commonwealth fisheries and marine resources. Their Corporate Services Branch provides key enabling functions across finance, procurement, governance, ICT, legal, and people services. Within the branch, this team delivers procurement, financial management, reporting and governance support across the organisation. The Opportunity An opportunity exists for an experienced procurement professional to join a collaborative team in a key advisory role. This position is available as either a 3-month labour hire engagement, or a non-ongoing contract and has arisen as a short-term backfill with the potential for extension. You will provide procurement advice across the organisation, support complex procurement activities and contribute to procurement governance and continuous improvement initiatives. The Role Reporting to the CFO, you will be responsible for: Providing strategic procurement advice across a range of procurement activities, including ICT, labour hire and contract management Leading end-to-end procurement processes and ensure compliance with legislative and policy requirements Supporting procurement governance, reporting and assurance activities Developing procurement guidance, training and capability initiatives Reviewing and improving procurement policies, processes and templates Building productive relationships with stakeholders across the organisation The Ideal Person You’re an experienced government procurement professional with strong knowledge of the Commonwealth procurement framework and a practical, solutions-focused approach. You will bring: Strong knowledge of the PGPA Act, Commonwealth Procurement Rules and procurement-connected policies Experience delivering complex procurement activities and providing high-level advice Strong judgement, problem-solving and risk management skills Excellent stakeholder engagement and communication skills Experience improving procurement processes, governance frameworks and documentation Desirable: Certificate IV in Government (Procurement and Contracting) or higher Experience with ICT or cyber procurements Experience using TechnologyOne or similar systems Baseline Security Clearance, or the ability to obtain one Salary / Rate Labour Hire 3-month contract: $90/hr – $115/hr Super Non-ongoing 3-month contract possible extension: $128k – $140k Super Flexible working arrangements available Canberra-based role How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.
