The Position We are looking for an experienced Senior Payroll officer to join our growing Payroll team. This opportunity will suit an inquisitive Senior Payroll Officer who enjoys investigating concerns, problem solving and collaborating with payroll team members to ensure efficient payroll processing. As the Senior Payroll Officer you will be responsible for the end-to-end processing of complex company payrolls and manage key interactions with external agencies. This pivotal role offers the opportunity to take ownership of payroll operations in a fast-paced, collaborative environment. Key Responsibilities Payroll processing including preparation and transfer to employee bank accounts. Prepare and reconcile superannuation, PAYG, and work cover levies. Processing leave requests including long service leave and other entitlements and maintaining leave records. Processing salary sacrifice arrangements in respect to payroll. Generate and analyse payroll data reports and effectively communicate findings. Assist in preparing the annual return and monitor claims for the group life salary continuance insurance and state work cover insurance. Prepare all payroll associated returns and surveys as required. Respond to complex employee queries regarding pay, leave and related terms and conditions of employment. Assist in reviews and re-development of the core payroll processes as required. Minimum Certificate IV in Payroll Administration (or similar). Understanding of Applicable Payroll Legislation and Awards Advanced Microsoft Excel & Word Intermediate Demonstrated ability to understand, interpret and apply legislation. Proven ability to provide mentoring and support to Payroll team. Highly developed communication skills, time management and organisational skills. Meticulous attention to detail and data accuracy.
