An exciting opportunity is available for an experienced Senior Records Officer to oversee records management operations and ensure compliant, high‑quality recordkeeping across the organisation. Reporting to the Coordinator Records, this role is responsible for overseeing day to day records functions, administering the electronic document and records management system (eDRMS), coordinating Freedom of Information (FOI) requests, and leading a small team to support effective service delivery and good governance. Key Responsibilities Oversee daily records management activities including registration, classification, retrieval and disposal of records. Administer and maintain the eDRMS, ensuring accuracy, accessibility and legislative compliance. Conduct quality assurance checks and audits and promote best practice recordkeeping. Provide organisation wide advice, support and training on records management and eDRMS use. Process Freedom of Information requests in accordance with the FOI Act 1992. Lead, allocate and monitor team workloads and foster a positive, collaborative team culture. Build strong working relationships with internal stakeholders. Contribute to policy, procedure and continuous improvement initiatives. About You You are a confident and proactive systems‑focused professional with strong records management experience. You enjoy researching and problem‑solving, have a sound understanding of legislation and best practice, and are comfortable working across systems to ensure accurate and compliant information management. You will bring experience developing and delivering records and information training sessions and can confidently engage with staff at all levels to promote good recordkeeping practices. Proven experience leading or supervising staff. Sound knowledge of records management principles and relevant legislation, including the State Records Act 2000 and FOI Act 1992. Strong attention to detail, organisational skills and ability to manage competing priorities. Confident communicator with good interpersonal and customer service skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office applications and digital systems. Qualifications Certificate IV in Business (Records and Information Management), Diploma of Recordkeeping, or equivalent experience.
