About the Role Heraeus Electro-Nite are the market leader in the supply and maintenance of molten metal temperature measurement associated sensor technology systems. We are seeking a senior / experienced Technical Sales Specialist to join our company based in Unanderra, NSW. The role involves Sales and Support of the industry accepted suit of sensors, samplers, instrumentation associated with the thermal and chemical control of metallurgical processes. This is an intense role, involving frequent local, interstate and overseas travel of ~14 weeks per year, being responsible in handling after hours calls /call outs and requiring inherent drive, dedication and personal flexibility. It should also be known that the working environments will vary between clean office environments to hot, dry, dirty, remote, hazardous industrial environments, with numerous stairs, working at heights, and other challenging aspects. Essential Requirements. Proven technical experience (>10 years) in a variety of Metallurgical applications ranging from Blast Furnace, BOS & EAF Steel Operations, Copper & Aluminium smelting along with Foundry Operations. Proven experience (>10 years) in the sales, support, commissioning, customer training and troubleshooting of the suite of instrumentation, hardware, and sensors utilised in the local industry and abroad (a more comprehensive list below). A proven ‘hands on’ background in industrial automation, instrumentation, electronics, mechatronics along with demonstrated understanding and application of sensor technology in the metallurgical processes as outlined above. Systems for measuring the Temperature of Molten Materials including Digitemp E, C, II, IV, SiderTemp, Meter Stick, DT260, Digilance series 2, 4, and 5 and Qubes series T, O, and L. Systems for measuring the Hydrogen Content of Molten Steel including Hydris Multilab, HydroVas, Hydris.Net, etc Systems for measuring the Oxygen, Carbon, and Aluminium content of Molten Steel; including Celox Lab, Celox Multilab, Celox Multilab 2, MultiLab 3, iM2 SensorLab, SiderTop, etc Systems for measuring Cryolite temperatures including the CV-Therm, Cry-O-therm, Fiberlance, Fiberlab models 1-3, etc Systems for measuring Cryolite bath chemistry including Fiberlab models 1-3, STARprobe, etc Systems for measuring the thermal analysis of molten iron including Quik Lab E, EC, II, III and IV, SensorLab Foundry, Meltlab, Ferro Lab II, etc Systems for performing instrumentation calibrations including Checkmate II, III, IV, Mincal, Quik Checker 110, Beamex, etc Software for the aforementioned systems including MeltControl, MeltControl 2020, MeltControl Foundry along with associated remote viewers for Multilab III, SensorLab, AlZin, and other. Systems for measuring Iron and Steel temperatures via Fiberoptics including CoreTemp, Chameleon, Chameleon Max, etc Miscellaneous instrumentation utilised locally including, AlZin Lab III & IV, Carbon Lab IV, ConCelox Coppe, ConTemp and CasTemp Note – There are many systems utilised in the industry of different brands & models. A range of experience is preferred and preferably those which are present in the Australian, and NZ market There is a large variety of equipment to be promoted, serviced, and supported so both a demonstrated and extensive understanding is therefore a key aspect of this role Examples of Industry Sensors and Samplers utilised both locally, and overseas in the markets to be serviced. Sensors including expendable immersion thermocouples, Oxygen sensors, Hydrogen sensors, thermal analysis cups, etc Samplers including vacuum, stream, immersion Foundry applications involving temperature measurement, sampling, and the thermal analysis of cast iron, steel, and non-ferrous materials Understanding of both the treatment and inoculation of cast irons along with the effects on final microstructures in that processes can be optimised. This role involves commissioning, maintaining, and optimizing advanced instrumentation systems used in steelworks and foundries across Australia and the surrounding ASEAN region. Automation Experience Experience in the setting up and configuring various types of PLC’s and automation systems including Siemens S7 series, Citect, etc Ability to configure industrial communication protocols including; TCP IP, Ethernet IP, mA, Serial, TTY, Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, etc and more specifically in relation to the above suite of local instrumentation. Ability to both diagnose and repair faults in industrial instrumentation communication systems and protocols as aforementioned and the ability to train customers staff in this field Qualifications Preferably a tertiary degree with industrial experience in the field/s as outlined above, or extensive/ demonstrated industrial experience (recognised prior learning) with supporting documentation.
