The Gonneville Project Our major greenfield discovery in early 2020, the Gonneville Project, is the largest undeveloped palladium-nickel-copper project in the western world, located approximately 70km north-east of Perth. The Gonneville Resource contains a unique blend of critical minerals essential for decarbonisation and urbanisation. Due to its strategic importance, the Project has been given “Strategic Project” status by the Western Australian Government and “Major Project” by the Commonwealth. The Project will involve construction of an open-pit mine, processing facility and supporting infrastructure to enable extraction and processing. The Role We’re looking for a Project Geologist (Casual) to support Chalice’s study activities at our Gonneville Project. Reporting to our Lead Geologist, this is a hands-on, field-focused role suited to someone who enjoys working as part of an energetic and motivated team. Key Responsibilities Plan and execute geological scopes, including drilling, and core logging to support study work Develop and refine geological models using collected data and software tools. Develop field plans and schedules, including resource allocation, budget management, and timeline adherence. Coordinate with drilling contractors, field technicians, and other team members to ensure the successful execution of site activities. Prepare detailed reports and presentations summarising findings, geological interpretations, and recommendations for further work Act as Statutory Supervisor in line with WHS (Mines) Regulations 2022 (WA), ensuring safe and compliant operations Requirements Bachelor’s degree in Geology 3–5 years’ industry experience, ideally within exploration environments Strong field capability and a proactive, team-oriented mindset Experience in nickel sulphide systems, particularly Ni-Cu-PGE orthomagmatic deposits (highly regarded) Familiarity with Micromine, GIS and MS Office tools Excellent communication and organisational skills Current C Class Driver’s Licence Ability to pass pre-employment medical and drug & alcohol screening Full working rights in Australia If you’re interested in applying for this position, “Apply now”.
