The opportunity We are seeking a highly experienced Principal Surface Mining & Planning professional to join our Technical Services team in a senior leadership role, reporting to the General Manager Technical Services and based at our Perth corporate office in Subiaco. This role is responsible for providing high‑quality, timely technical leadership and mine planning support across the Duketon Operations. You will work closely with site leadership, technical teams and corporate stakeholders to drive value creation through robust life‑of‑mine planning, technical governance and continuous improvement. While the role is Perth‑based, regular site interaction and travel to operations is a key requirement. The main responsibilities of this role include: Lead and continuously improve mine planning systems, standards and processes Deliver Ore Reserve updates in line with JORC requirements Oversee Life of Mine planning, forecasting and scheduling processes Provide technical leadership across open pit mine design Lead and embed the effective use of Deswik and planning systems Coordinate and provide technical input to feasibility studies, evaluations and business cases Support surface project development activities Provide technical advice to optimise mining performance at operating sites Prepare annual and project specific development budgets Ensure technical data integrity, governance and audit readiness Support environmental approvals and regulatory engagement as required Lead, mentor and develop mining engineers and technical professionals Contribute technical expertise to acquisitions, expansions, upgrades and major capital projects About you To be successful for this role, you will have: Tertiary qualification in Mining Engineering Extensive experience across surface hard rock operations, with strong exposure to gold mining Broad mine planning and technical leadership capability across operating sites and development projects Proven experience leading, mentoring and developing technical teams Strong understanding of JORC resource and reserve reporting Sound commercial judgement with a focus on value optimisation Excellent communication and technical report writing skills A proactive, safety‑focused leadership approach What we can offer: Career development opportunities Collaborative work environment where your input matters Employee service awards and employee referral incentive Supportive and highly experienced leadership team Wellbeing support for you and your family for personal and professional matters (EAP) Competitive salary with annual incentives As Regis Resources continues its evolution from mid-tier gold miner to a leading Australian gold producer, this is a unique opportunity to join Regis.
