Opportunities within the business to develop yourself and the business About the Role: We are looking for a driven and customer-focused Sales Assistant to work alongside the Sales Manager to help grow our counter sales division. You will be responsible for building relationships with trade customers, generating new business, and providing expert advice on roofing products. Key Responsibilities: Develop and maintain strong relationships with builders, roofers, and contractors Drive sales of roofing materials and associated products Identify and pursue new business opportunities Provide product knowledge, recommendations, and tailored solutions Prepare quotes and purchase orders Process orders, and follow up with customers Programming of flashings into the new computer system Work collaboratively with the team in the factory to ensure excellent service and delivery Skills & Experience: Proven sales experience (roofing, construction, or building supplies highly regarded) Trade background an advantage, especially within roof plumbing Strong communication and relationship-building skills Self-motivated with a proactive approach to sales Knowledge of roofing products is an advantage, but not essential Ability to work independently and as part of a team Current driver’s licence Forklift licence (highly regarded but not essential) Proficient in Microsoft Excel for quotes, pricing, and sales tracking Ability to create and manage spreadsheets, including formulas and basic functions Experience maintaining customer and product pricing lists Experience with MYOB an advantage Ability to analyse sales data and generate simple reports Strong attention to detail and data accuracy
