With a new contract awarded in 2024 to provide 6 2 2 years, now is the time to join Ventia’s Fire Services About the roles These exciting positions will see you work as part of a team of Firefighters who are responsible for responding to emergencies including incidents involving vessels at harbour, aviation, structural fire and bushfire. You will perform duties as directed by Station Management including but not limited to: Maintaining operational readiness in accordance with relevant procedures. Ensuring that all relevant administrative duties associated with operational duties are performed. Complying with operational health and safety requirements. Undertaking training and drills as required to maintain operational readiness. Of most importance is a positive can-do attitude. We will train you! Ideally, but not essential, you will have some emergency response experience. For example, on a mine site, in aviation, in marine, on rail etc. You need to be fit and willing to undertake a detailed fitness assessment, a willingness to undertake extensive training and development, be a focused team player with an emphasis on safely that will be at the forefront of everything you do. Special Conditions These positions require the ability to obtain and maintain a Defence Security Clearance (Negative Vetting Level 1 – Secret) .
