YOUR NEW ROLE In this key VIP autonomous role reporting directly to the Commercial Executive dotted line reporting to the GROUP Chief Legal Officer, as the S O LE in-house legal counsel servicing the asset finance business division, you will love the challenge and satisfaction of 'linking arms' with 4 seni or executives [1) GM- operations 2) Chief Risk Officer 3) Head-Sales 4) Chief IT Officer] providing and implementing practical commercial and strategic legal advice including: all matters relating to commercial/asset finance , reviewing/drafting commercial transactional documents, standard form contracts, disclosure documents and customer communications; evaluating and structuring future business opportunities ; regulatory compliance (eg ASIC, APRA, privacy, anti-money laundering); and corporate governance and risk management practices; engaging & liaising with external lawyers for complex matters including litigation, insolvencies and large-scale transactions. WHO YOU ARE We are interested in hearing from you if you: have 7-20 years post qualification experience (with an unrestricted practising certificate) in a similar financial services legal role either in-house or in private practice; have significant experience advising on PPSR issues (preferably in relation to commercial asset finance transactions) preferably experience dealing with regulatory/industry bodies; possess strong legal drafting skills technical & practical knowledge of key legislation relating to commercial asset finance organisations including privacy and AML/CTF general understanding of commercial collections practices, insolvency, litigation, and mediation; possess a strong commercial acumen ability to provide practical solutions to problems; have outstanding communication interpersonal skills and a proven ability to effectively deal with various stakeholders at different levels/backgrounds; are hands on, pro-active, adaptable & able to deliver high quality technical legal advice (even under tight time pressure) in a fast-paced environment; are seeking a stimulating fulfilling autonomous 'life-balanced' in-house role long-term.
