Now, we’re looking for a Groundsperson to join the team and help keep Morphettville’s tracks, grounds, and facilities in top condition. Let’s start with why this role exists Our venue is always in motion. From early morning trackwork to major race days and large-scale events, everything we do relies on our grounds being safe, high-performing, and presented to the highest standard. This role plays a key part in that. You’ll be hands-on in maintaining our premium turf, gardens, and racing surfaces, helping ensure every race day and event runs as it should and looks the part. You’ll be working as part of a passionate team from our brand-new, state-of-the-art maintenance and grounds facility, with the right tools, the right equipment, and a team that takes pride in the job. What your days might look like Carry out routine maintenance of racing surfaces, grounds, and facilities Prepare tracks and move running rails for race days Operate and maintain turf machinery and equipment Apply fertilisers and treatments to maintain healthy, race-ready turf Maintain gardens, lawns, and surrounding areas across the venue Ensure the grounds are safe, clean, and presented to a high standard Race days are where it all comes together - and you’ll be part of making that happen. It’s a hands-on role where everyone pitches in, working together to deliver a venue that’s ready for racing, events, and everything in between. You might see yourself here if you… Enjoy working outdoors and being active throughout the day Take pride in hands-on work and doing a job properly Have a qualification in Sports Turf Management, Horticulture or a similar trade Have experience in grounds, turf, greenkeeping, labouring, or similar roles Work well in a team but can also get on with the job independently Are reliable, practical, and willing to learn Most importantly, you bring a strong work ethic and take ownership of your work.
