Position Overview We are seeking a qualified and experienced Welder to join our growing team. The successful candidate will be responsible for carrying out welding and repair work. This role involves welding reinforcement steel, performing maintenance on plant and equipment, and assisting with onsite welding tasks to support production and installation activities. Key Responsibilities Perform welding of reinforcing steel (rebar, mesh, and cages) used in concrete construction and precast manufacturing Carry out welding and repair work on reinforcement assemblies to maintain structural integrity Undertake maintenance and repair welding on plant, equipment, and production machinery including batching systems, moulds, and lifting frames Provide onsite welding support during installation of precast concrete elements, including brackets, plates, and structural connections Prepare materials for welding by cutting, grinding, and cleaning surfaces Interpret basic technical drawings and work instructions to complete welding tasks Inspect completed welds to ensure quality and compliance with required standards Respond to welding repair requirements to support ongoing operations Maintain welding equipment and ensure safe operating practices are followed at all times Work collaboratively with site and production teams to support project delivery Skills and Experience Required Certificate III in Engineering – Fabrication Trade or equivalent qualification Minimum 2 years’ experience in welding in construction, civil, or heavy industry environments Strong competency in MIG and Arc welding (TIG desirable) Experience in welding reinforcement steel, repair, and maintenance welding Ability to follow basic technical drawings and work instructions Reliable, self-motivated, and able to work as part of a team Strong understanding of workplace health and safety practices
