Join our close-knit Underground team at our Deflector Mine Site An opportunity exists at Vault Minerals for an experienced, independent, and self-motivated Mine Foreman at the Deflector Mine Site. Deflector Operation consists of two high-grade, narrow vein Gold/Copper mines, located 160km east of Geraldton. The ore is contained in a series of structurally complex lodes, namely the Deflector and Deflector South West deposits. Reporting to the Mining Superintendent and Senior Mine Foreman, the Mine Foreman will be responsible for managing and coordinating mining operations to meet regulatory, safety, production, and cost targets. The Mine Foreman will ensure that all mining and planning activities support the short-, medium-, and long-term needs of a gold mining project in Western Australia. Additionally, these activities must align with Vault Minerals' strategic goals and objectives. This position will be offered on an 8:6 roster FIFO from Perth or DIDO from Geralton/Regional Key responsibilities of this role will include: Manage and oversee the production and development activities of the mine taking into consideration the long-term requirements of the mine as well as responding to the daily requirement in order to achieve the budget. Promote community safety health environment safety and security awareness to meet or required sustainability related KPIs and strategies. Actively support, participate and lead as required in safety activities such as safety and toolbox meetings health promotion talks safety presentations etc. Provide active leadership and management of the mining team to achieve safety, environmental, budgetary, and production objectives. Oversee and administer all contract mining activities in alignment with Deflector site operations. Oversee the maintenance of all infrastructure plants and equipment to maximise its ongoing availability and capability to meet that needs of the mine ensuring that all infrastructure is maintained operated and decommissioned in accordance with all relevant legislative requirements. Monitor the completion of works to ensure that they are undertaken in accordance with the expectation detailed in the plan and implement timely remedial action when required. Monitor and manage development, stoping and mining projects progress against monthly targets. Maximise mining recovery and minimise dilution in stoping activities for the agreed and approved mining strategy. Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement through leading and encouraging all employees to participate in all areas of the mining process, and to improve existing systems and processes within the department in terms of safety, cost, production and ore optimization. Lead the preparation and ongoing management of department budgets under forecast ensuring that all operational and capital needs are adequately catered for to effectively deliver on the department business plan and provide the necessary training and exposure for direct reports so that they can assist in cost control. Effectively manage the daily weekly and monthly activities of the mining operation to ensure that costs are minimised and the operating and capital budgets achieved in relation the identified KPIs Provide ongoing leadership and mentoring and appropriate structured internal and external training for direct reports through effective use off the performance management process to enhance employee engagement, productivity, job satisfaction and to provide a clear career pathway, thus cementing a robust succession and talent management plan for the team and the broader business. About You Minimum of 10 years’ experience within an underground gold mining environment, including service as an integral member of a multidisciplinary, site-based management team. Proven leadership skills supported by substantial experience in an underground mining supervisory position. Excellent knowledge of the statutory requirements of the Western Australian Mining Act and Regulations, as well as the Work Health and Safety (WHS) Act. Applicants must hold a valid Underground Supervisor Certificate of Competency in accordance with the Work Health and Safety (Mines) Regulations 2022 (WA). Proficient computer skills in MS Office, Pronto and INX systems.
