The role This is an exciting, newly created opportunity for a Sponsorship Manager to join Auto & General! You will take ownership of a high-profile sports sponsorship portfolio, specifically partnering with the new NRL team, the Perth Bears, set to debut in 2027. This hands-on role is critical in launching and growing our presence with the team, delivering end-to-end sponsorship management and activations that build brand impact. In this role, you will: Act as the lead point of contact for the Perth Bears marketing team, driving a positive and highly engaged partnership. Lead the planning, activation, and delivery of sponsorship campaigns across game day events, digital and social initiatives, and above-the-line marketing. Regular travel to Perth will be a requirement, encompassing game day activations on weekends and strategic meetings during the week. Take ownership of real-time game day content creation and management, including: Developing game hype content. Posting half-time score updates and post-game analysis across social media platforms. Actively monitoring comments across social platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok). Proactively managing the online presence across social platforms Significantly amplifying social media engagement across Instagram, Facebook, and TikTok to build momentum and excitement for the new team sponsorship. Manage the sponsorship calendar, ensuring alignment with brand, product marketing, PR, and media activity. Build and maintain strong relationships with internal stakeholders and external partners, rights holders and agencies to maximise sponsorship value. Oversee sponsorship fulfilment, ensuring contractual deliverables and benefits are executed to the highest standard. Manage third-party agencies and oversee creative design and marketing collateral for activations. Drive productivity and innovation, leveraging AI tools and best practice methods to improve processes, reporting, and campaign optimisation. Ensure all sponsorship activities comply with risk, governance, legal, and policy requirements. Coordinate budgets, financial reconciliation, and reporting to ensure sponsorship investments deliver measurable ROI. Analyse outcomes and provide insights to inform future sponsorship strategy. This is a role where creativity meets commercial thinking. Your ability to manage complex projects, engage stakeholders, and deliver high-quality activations will set you apart. What experience you’ll bring 3-5 years proven experience managing sponsorships, events, or campaigns end-to-end, ideally with a strong understanding of sports marketing. Sports sponsorship experience in a large organisation or consumer brand. A genuine passion for NRL and sport, evidenced by active engagement and following. A talent for project management and stakeholder engagement, with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and external relationships (e.g., with a sports team). Excellent communication skills, with confidence working with high-profile sports partners, media, and managing public-facing social media interactions. Advanced proficiency across social media platforms (Instagram, Facebook, TikTok) for real-time engagement, content creation, and community management, including comment moderation. Strong financial and analytical skills, with the ability to report on ROI and campaign performance. Tertiary qualifications in marketing, business, or commerce. A creative mindset with strong copywriting and design appreciation, particularly for dynamic social media content. Demonstrated ability to adopt new technologies and drive productivity, including the use of AI tools. Nice to have: Experience in financial services or insurance.
