As a Senior Project Officer within the Regulatory Practice & Services division, you will lead the development and implementation of projects and programs that support enhanced environmental outcomes and resilience within the emergency management space. It is an exciting, challenging and rewarding opportunity to work with a range of community and Government stakeholders. About you You will be a self-starter, achieving Branch/Section priorities through co-design, collaboration, and evidence-based research. You will have the opportunity to utilise project management, operational skills and influence policy. You will identify, analyse and monitor emerging issues, trends, and risks with the potential to impact project design and delivery. You will have experience in cross agency work and preferably experience working with aboriginal communities. You will have a passion for emergency management. Knowledge of emergency management and experience working with Aboriginal communities is preferred. Please note the project may require some travel to Far West NSW. About the team The Environment Services Unit (part of the EPA’s Incident Management and Environmental Health Branch) supports and coordinates the Environment Services Functional Area (EnvSFA) for Government. With the aim of mitigating harm to the environment and building resilience across the prevention, preparedness, response and recovery – PPRR of emergency Management. We work with a range of internal and external stakeholders in the delivery of our work including local government, emergency management partner agencies and Aboriginal communities. If you are successful in the role, you will be working in a supportive, collaborative, diverse, and outcomes-driven team, that works across varied geographic areas. This position will deliver on EPA commitments under the Office of Chief Scientist report into the mass fish death in Menindee. This work is part of DCCEEW Restoring the Darling Baaka project.
