Simmonds Group is seeking an experienced and motivated In-House Workshop mechanic / fitter to join our team. This is a varied and hands-on role responsible for servicing and maintaining a fleet of approximately 90 machines, including fixed plant, light vehicles, and mobile plant equipment. About the Role This position offers a diverse workload across both workshop and field environments. You will be responsible for diagnosing, maintaining, and repairing a wide range of machinery while working both independently and alongside supervisors across the group. Key Responsibilities Service, maintain and repair a variety of plant and equipment. Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical issues across multiple machine types. Maintain accurate service records and documentation. Source and purchase parts as required. Work collaboratively with supervisors and team members. Ensure all work is carried out safely and efficiently. About You To be successful in this role, you will have: Relevant trade qualification (essential). Previous experience in a similar role (or strong ability to work independently and learn quickly). Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills. A positive attitude with a "can-do" mindset. Excellent reliability and punctuality. Good communication skills and ability to work within a team. Ability to work autonomously. Valid HR License (advantageous). Forklift License (advantageous). Current driver’s licence and access to a reliable vehicle (essential due to the nature of the role).
