Key Skills & Experience Must have min. 3 years experience supporting individuals with complex mental health needs Experience working with behaviours of concern Ability to implement and follow Positive Behaviour Support Plans (PBSP) Strong de-escalation and conflict resolution skills Understanding of trauma-informed care Experience supporting people with anxiety, emotional regulation challenges, or trauma Confidence working independently in community settings Ability to maintain professional boundaries while building trust Ability to support participants independence with life decisions Must be comfortable around animals Understanding participants right to choice and control Personal Qualities Calm, patient, and emotionally resilient Non-judgmental and empathetic Strong communication and active listening skills Ability to remain regulated during heightened situations Reliable and consistent in approach Flexible and adaptable to changing needs Support Tasks May Include Assisting with community access and social engagement Supporting with daily living tasks and routine building Encouraging healthy coping strategies and emotional regulation Supporting engagement with appointments or programs Providing structured support and routine Documenting progress and incident reporting where required
