About the Role We are seeking compassionate and reliable Disability Support Workers to join our team at a Supported Independent Living (SIL) home in Oxenford. You will be supporting residents with diverse needs, including intellectual disability, trauma histories, and mental-health challenges. Your role is to promote independence, dignity, and meaningful daily living. Key Responsibilities Provide respectful, person-centered support to residents Assist with daily living skills (cooking, cleaning, personal care, medication prompts) Support emotional wellbeing using trauma-informed and strengths-based approaches Build positive relationships based on trust, consistency, and clear communication Implement behaviour support strategies in line with NDIS guidelines Encourage community participation, social engagement, and skill development Maintain accurate documentation and shift notes Work collaboratively with the team and follow individual support plans Required Skills Compassion, patience, and strong emotional awareness Ability to remain calm and supportive in challenging situations Understanding of trauma-informed care and mental-health considerations Excellent communication skills, including de-escalation and active listening Respect for autonomy, boundaries, and individual differences Reliability, consistency, and commitment to ethical care Ability to follow behaviour support plans and safety procedures Required Qualifications & Checks Certificate III or IV in Individual Support, Disability, Community Services, or equivalent Current First Aid & CPR NDIS Worker Screening Check (or ability to obtain) Blue Card if required Valid driver’s licence Experience in SIL or psychosocial disability support is highly regarded What We Offer Competitive Pay Rates up to $44.59/hour Supportive, inclusive team environment Ongoing training and professional development Opportunities for career progression within ACCORD CARE
