About the Opportunity We are seeking a Material Planner to support the delivery of major shipbuilding programs at our Henderson shipyard. This role is critical to ensuring the right materials are available at the right time to keep production moving efficiently. Working closely with procurement, production, and warehousing teams, you will plan, track, and coordinate materials across the build lifecycle minimising delays, reducing shortages, and supporting on-time project delivery. What You will Do Develop and maintain material plans aligned to production schedules Ensure timely availability of materials to support shipbuilding activities Monitor inventory levels, shortages, and upcoming demand Coordinate with procurement to expedite critical items Track material status from order through to delivery and issue to production Work closely with production teams to prioritise and sequence material requirements Identify risks and implement solutions to prevent delays or disruptions Maintain accurate data in ERP/MRP systems What You will Bring Experience in material planning, supply chain, or logistics (ideally in shipbuilding, construction, manufacturing, or heavy industry) Strong understanding of MRP/ERP systems Ability to interpret production schedules and bills of materials (BOMs) Strong organisational and critical thinking skills High attention to detail and ability to manage competing priorities Effective communication and stakeholder coordination skills Previous experience in Defence or large-scale infrastructure projects Knowledge of shipbuilding or heavy fabrication processes APICS or supply chain certification (or similar) Experience with inventory optimisation and demand planning Why Join Us?
