The Opportunity ORIGINS is the largest study of its kind in Australia, following 10,000 WA children from their time in the womb into early childhood. ORIGINS researchers are working to better understand how the early environment impacts the development of non-communicable diseases with the goal to develop targeted, more effective prevention and intervention strategies that support all families to flourish throughout life. We now have an exciting opportunity for a Research Assistant to support the delivery of The ORIGINS Project within the Paediatric team at The Kids Research Institute Australia. Reporting to the Paediatric Team Coordinator, this role focuses on participant engagement, clinical follow-up visits, and the collection of high-quality research data and biological samples, alongside administrative and data management support. Key responsibilities: Assist with clinic and home visit appointments (procedures during appointment may include questionnaires, language and literacy assessments, skin prick testing, recording blood pressure, height, waist and weight measurements, etc). Perform engagement phone calls and book participant appointments. Provide administrative and reception support to ORIGINS team. Assist with core ORIGINS sub-projects as required, such as cohort re-consent. Based within our offices in Edgewater, position may be offered between 0.6 FTE and 1.0 FTE, for an initial 2-year period. You will work on a rotating roster with flexible working hours (between 7:00am – 7:00pm, Monday-Saturday). About You The successful candidate will hold an undergraduate degree in relevant discipline (e.g. nursing, psychology, public health) or have relevant experience. You will also demonstrate: High level of interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills. Excellent attention to detail. Experience in working with children and families. High personal motivation and ability to work collaboratively as part of a team as well as independently. Current ‘C’ Class Driver’s licence and own transportation.
