BENGONG'S TEA AUSTRALIA PTY LTD, trading as Bengong’s Tea & Bakery, is an artisanal bakery and tea house established in February 2019 and located in NSW. The business specialises in producing a wide variety of Asian-inspired baked goods, including bread, pastries, cakes, and confections, paired with a carefully curated tea menu. With a loyal and growing customer base, the business has grown significantly since inception. As a result, and as part of our continued expansion and investment in professional business operations, we are seeking a qualified and experienced Accountant to join our team. The roles for the vacant position include but are not limited to: • Prepare, examine, and analyse financial statements, reports, and records across multiple store locations to ensure accuracy and compliance with applicable accounting standards and regulations • Prepare and lodge Business Activity Statements (BAS), payroll tax returns, and other statutory obligations in accordance with ATO requirements for all business entities and trading locations • Maintain general ledger accounts for each store location and perform monthly, quarterly, and annual reconciliations, including consolidated group-level reporting • Assist in the preparation of annual financial reports and liaise with external auditors and tax agents • Monitor and manage cash flow across all store locations, including preparation of consolidated cash flow forecasts and budgets • Provide financial analysis and reports to management to support business decision-making, including store-by-store cost analysis, variance reporting, and profitability assessments • Manage and maintain the company's ERP system, including reviewing and reconciling ERP-generated reports, overseeing inventory records, and producing consolidated financial summaries for management • Maintain accurate records of stock on hand, shop fittings, and capital expenditures across all locations, and manage depreciation schedules • Prepare consolidated budget reports and high-level financial summaries for management review, including performance tracking against targets across all business locations • Assist in developing and implementing internal financial controls and accounting procedures to improve efficiency, accuracy, and consistency across all store operations • Liaise with external stakeholders including banks, accountants, and government agencies as required Qualifications and skills required for the role: • Relevant tertiary (Bachelor degree) qualification in Accounting, Finance, or a related discipline • Minimum one (1) year of experience in an accounting role, with two (2) or more years preferred • Proficiency in accounting software such as MYOB, Xero, or QuickBooks • Strong knowledge of Australian taxation law, GST, BAS preparation, and payroll processing • Experience in the hospitality or retail industry is advantageous • High level of accuracy and attention to detail • Excellent organisational and time management skills • Strong written and verbal communication skills • Mandarin speaking is advantageous • Ability to work independently and as part of a small team • The successful applicant would ideally be available full-time, Monday to Friday, with occasional flexibility as required
