We are seeking a knowledgeable and collaborative Workplace Relations Advisor to join our team in our Sunshine West office on a fixed-term basis. This is an exciting opportunity to partner with leaders across our Central and Melbourne services to provide high-quality workplace relations and HR advisory support within a values-driven organisation. About the Role As the Workplace Relations Advisor, you will provide broad generalist HR and workplace relations support to leaders and teams across the organisation. You will play a key role in supporting managers to navigate complex employee relations matters, maintain compliance with workplace legislation, and foster a positive and inclusive workplace culture aligned with organisational values. As a trusted advisor to the business, you will maintain a strong understanding of organisational policies and procedures while delivering practical, risk-based advice and solutions. Key Responsibilities Provide expert workplace relations and HR advisory support to managers and stakeholders Manage a broad range of employee and industrial relations matters including: Performance management Misconduct and disciplinary matters Workplace investigations Grievances and complaints Workers compensation and return-to-work matters Absence management Organisational change and redundancy processes Interpret and provide advice on workplace legislation, awards, enterprise agreements, and organisational policies Support compliance with employment legislation and regulatory obligations Develop, review, and improve workplace policies, procedures, and systems Contribute to capability building through training, guidance materials, and proactive workplace relations initiatives Build strong working relationships across the organisation and support positive workplace culture outcomes About You To be successful in this role, you will demonstrate: Strong knowledge of Australian workplace relations legislation and frameworks, including: Fair Work Act and National Employment Standards Modern Awards and Enterprise Agreements Employment contracts and workplace policies Industrial relations processes and dispute resolution Child Safe Standards, Equal Opportunity, and workplace health and safety obligations Proven experience managing: Performance management processes Workplace investigations Workers compensation and return-to-work matters Complex employee relations matters Ability to interpret legislation and provide practical, accurate, and risk-based advice Excellent stakeholder engagement and relationship-building skills Strong written and verbal communication skills Ability to manage sensitive matters with professionalism, confidentiality, procedural fairness, and sound judgement Experience developing and reviewing workplace policies and procedures Commitment to child safety, diversity, inclusion, and ethical practice Previous experience working within the community services or early childhood education and care sector Qualifications and Experience Qualification in Human Resources, Industrial Relations, Employment Law, or related discipline Experience working within the education, early childhood, not-for-profit, or community services sector Experience interpreting the Children’s Services Award and/or Educational Services (Teachers) Award Understanding of the operational environment and workforce challenges within the early childhood education and care sector WWCC for Victoria National Police Clearance no older than 6 months Child Safety Training (Geccko) Minimum 3 – 5 years as a Workplace Relations Advisor What We Offer Hybrid working arrangements Flexibility to work from home Office-based Tuesdays and Wednesdays, with remaining days worked remotely Laptop provided Supportive and collaborative team environment Opportunity to contribute to meaningful work within the early childhood education and care sector Access to our EAP
