Click here to view position description As a key member of the ATSICHS Brisbane team, the ATSICHS delivers a range of kindergartens across Brisbane South and Logan through a unique holistic approach to early education for Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander children. The role leads the development and implementation of targeted projects that aim to improve the teaching pedagogy, and associated operational systems, in delivering quality play-based learning experiences that improve the social, cultural, and developmental milestones of all children. The role works closely with front-line staff in delivering in-field side-by-side coaching to scaffold staff development, while also leading all quality compliance and child risk management. The role also supports the back-fill of general kindergarten operations. Duties Lead the project management and delivery of targeted efforts to engage existing ATSICHS clients and general community into enrolling children. Lead the identification of children requiring allied health supports, based on developmental delays. Actively coordinate appropriate interventions, working alongside ATSICHS internal services. Lead the development and project management of targeted improvements in operational systems, staff workflow cycles, and curriculum enhancements. Lead the development and implementation of an annual training and development plan, focussed on improving staff skills and pedagogy in all roles (Centre Manager/Teacher/Educators). Develop a schedule of training that aligns with practice evidence-based skills gap across the kindergarten teams. Provide a comprehensive assessment of staff pedagogy and work practices, tailoring solutions and coaching on evidenced assessment. Lead the development of risk frameworks, including the development and review of associated policies and procedures for managing compliance and risk in the early years sector. Systematise and digitise kindergarten operations to improve data tracking and monitoring of quality deliverables. Back-fill in leading the day-to-day centre management operations as Centre Manager/Teacher, ensuring compliance with early years safety standards. Desired Skills and Experience Required Bachelor’s Degree: Completed a Bachelor of Education (Early Years) OR Diploma: Completed Diploma in Early Childhood and willingness to complete a Post Graduate Certificate in Early Childhood Education whilst working, funded by ATSICHS. At least five (5) year's experience in a Teacher/Centre Manager role is required. AND Theoretical and Technical Teaching Pedagogy: Demonstrated ability to apply and critique early years teaching pedagogy, aligned with ATSICHS values. Ability to deliver real-time adaption of pedagogical practices when interacting with children and coach staff on pedagogy approaches. Early Years Learning Framework Knowledge and Command: Expert knowledge of the Early Years Learning Framework (EYLF) and National Quality Framework (NQF) for early education and care. Demonstrated ability to apply standard into systems and operations in a kindy or long day care setting. Positively Influencing Staff: Strong ability to proactively engage and positively influence staff, ensuring operational changes and coaching support build a positive team culture and quality focus. Children Safety and Diligence: Demonstrated ability to lead immediate safety responses to children, including diligence in proactive management of safety hazards and risks. Whole-of-System Allied Health Integration: Ability to identify and coordinate children with developmental delays accessing visiting allied health services. Early Years Improvement: Knowledge or demonstrated experience in early years systems, operations, and evidence-based research to improve impact with children. Preferred Project Management Experience or Transferrable Skills: Previous experience or transferrable skills related to project management is desirable, or willingness to attend specialist project management training.
