About the role: We are seeking an experienced and motivated Workshop Leading Hand to oversee day-to-day Frameshop operations in our Welshpool workshop. This is a hands-on leadership role responsible for supervising workshop activities, ensuring high-quality workmanship, and maintaining a strong safety culture. You will play a key role in guiding technicians and apprentices, optimising production, and delivering consistent, high-standard outcomes across all track frame work. Your day to day could include: Perform track frame disassembly and assembly Conduct inspections, measurements, and reporting on dozer, drill, and shovel frames Supervise Track Frame Technicians and apprentices on a daily basis Train, mentor, and develop team capabilities Work closely with the Workshop Supervisor and Branch Manager to ensure smooth operations Contribute to process improvements and procedural development Assist with implementation of new systems, tools, and workflows About You Qualifications Mechanical Trade Qualification – HD Fitter / Boilermaker Desirable HRWL – LF Gantry Crane Ticket First Aid Certificate Skills & Experience Minimum 5 years’ experience in MIG, TIG, and stick welding Strong ability to read and interpret mechanical drawings Proficient with workshop equipment (welders, plasma cutters, grinders, etc.) Solid understanding of metal properties and welding techniques Strong organisational and time management skills Effective communication and leadership abilities Ability to work autonomously and manage competing priorities Commitment to teamwork, inclusion, and workplace respect Eligibility Must be an Australian Citizen or Permanent Resident Why Join Us?
