Salmon rents & supports a complete range of Caterpillar & other heavy machinery used in mining & constructions sectors, providing high quality plant for short- & long-term hire throughout Australia About the Role: Our Nebo workshop is the central hub for our Bown Basin operations – with two workshops on site; our new Workshop / Maintenance Supervisor plays a key role in leading our skilled team of tradespeople across both workshops. Reporting to the Workshop Manager, this role is the Senior person on site on weekends. A hands-on leadership role, you’ll be responsible for coordinating maintenance activities and ensuring our fleet is maintained to a safe, reliable, and high-performing standard. Key Responsibilities: Lead and supervise 10-20 crew across two workshop sites. Provide technical support and mentoring to trades and apprentices. Coordinate job allocations, parts ordering, and repair schedules to ensure timely and effective service delivery. Maintain accurate service records and report on maintenance KPI’s. Monitor and ensure workshop safety, quality, and compliance process & procedures are upheld. Conduct toolbox & pre-starts with clear communication across shifts Coordinate maintenance activities of Bown Basin projects with individual Site Supervisor’s. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and foster a high-performance safety driven culture. About You: To succeed in this role, you will have demonstrated supervision / leadership experience ideally in a similar maintenance or mechanical role and / or industry. You will be self-driven, a natural problem solver and thrive under pressure. You will possess strong communication skills coupled with the ability to keep your crew motivated. The successful candidate will have the following: Certificate III in Mobile Plant Technology or Engineering (Mechanical) or equivalent. RII Certified: EWP, Working at Heights, and Light Vehicle/Equipment Testing & Operations, Standard 11 (highly desirable). Proven knowledge of heavy equipment servicing and diagnostics (CAT, Komatsu, Hitachi or similar) Fluency with maintenance software (MEX, Pronto, SAP systems highly desirable) A strong commitment to workplace safety, quality standards & team development. Competent in the use of Microsoft Office suite Current & valid Driver’s Licence A “can do” attitude with the ability to work well in a team environment. Ability to work autonomously and unsupervised as required. Ability to pass a pre-employment medical and drug and alcohol screening.
