Anne is 93 years old and resides in an Aged Care Facility in Umina Beach. She would love to have a regular connection with a female volunteer who can bring a bit of the world to her. Reminiscing about her life in Sydney and the NSW Riverina, chatting about families, work life and hobbies will offer Anne a valuable connection. Anne enjoys puzzles and word search, daily morning exercises and rummikub and would enjoy chatting over a cuppa at the onsite cafe with a new friend. We are currently searching for a kind and caring person with some life experience who can commit to regular visits with Anne. Availability to visit weekly or fortnightly for around an hour per visit is required. Visits are purely for social reasons (no running errands, transporting to medical appointments, or personal care duties) and occur on a regular ongoing basis. Time can be spent doing activities you both enjoy - take a trip down memory lane looking at old photos, enjoy time reminiscing and sharing stories. It's all about connection, companionship and community. Volunteer Visitors require patience and reliabilityand above all, a heart for older people. You will be supported in your role by a Volunteer Coordinator. Volunteers undergo a police check (at no charge to you) and complete a short online training program before commencing their volunteering role. Please register your interest today and a Coordinator will be in touch with more information about the next steps.
