Role overview We are seeking experienced and motivated Spray Painters to join our growing team for upcoming defence and mining projects. This is an excellent opportunity to work on high-quality industrial coating projects within a professional and fast-paced environment. The successful candidate will work to paint specifications, ITP's and manufacturer's technical data sheets, ensuring finishes meet performance and appearance requirements with minimal rework. Key responsibilities Prepare surfaces and apply coatings by wet spray conventional to parts, assemblies and structures. Mix, prepare and apply 2-pack coatings, epoxy primers and a range of topcoats. Monitor and control film thickness, flash-off times and curing processes. Inspect work for defects, perform touch-ups and rectify issues to meet quality standards. Read and follow paint specifications, job cards and manufacturer's technical data sheets. Maintain a clean, safe and organised workspace and follow site safety procedures. Applications of APAS paint systems. Applications of Anti-fouling paint systems. Reading and following ITP requirements. Required skills and experience Proven experience in wet spray painting industrial, automotive and defence. Strong knowledge of surface preparation and coating of various substrates. Experience with 2 pack coatings, epoxy primers, topcoats ranging from polyurethanes to polysiloxanes. Strong attention to detail. Good understanding of film thickness, flash-off times, and curing requirements. Strong knowledge in identifying and rectifying paint defects (runs, dry spray, orange peel, contamination). Ability to consistently achieve high-quality finishes with minimal rework. Ability to read and follow paint specifications, job cards, and manufacturer's technical data sheets. Defence industry experience advantageous but not essential. Qualifications Relevant trade qualification or demonstrable industry experience. Current licences/clearances as required by site (if applicable). Forklift license advantageous but not essential. NACE 1/2 qualifications advantageous but no essential.
