This is a senior owner-side site role overseeing construction, commissioning, start-up, performance testing and handover to operations. The position will suit a strong site leader with deep industrial construction experience, proven EPC contractor oversight capability and the ability to manage complex stakeholder interfaces across project delivery, operations, contractors and site management teams. About the role Reporting to the Project Manager, the Site Manager will act as the senior site representative and provide day-to-day leadership across site execution activities. The role will be based in Karratha on a flexible roster and will support the project through construction, commissioning, start-up and handover into operations, with the expected project completion period extending from late 2026 into early 2027. Key responsibilities include: Providing senior on-site leadership across construction and commissioning activities Overseeing EPC contractor and subcontractor performance on site Supporting safe delivery in line with approved project plans, designs, schedules, quality standards and permits Monitoring site progress, identifying risks and constraints, and escalating issues where required Supporting construction readiness, commissioning planning, system completion and handover activities Acting as the key site interface between the client, EPC contractor, operations stakeholders and site management teams Supporting operational readiness, start-up documentation, permit-to-work interfaces and transition of systems into service Contributing to site reporting across HSE, progress, quality, risks and emerging issues Supporting audits, inspections, regulatory engagement and pre-start-up safety review activities Ensuring compliance with site governance, Major Hazard Facility requirements, safety case obligations and handover milestones About the candidate The ideal candidate will be an experienced site leader with a strong background in major industrial construction environments, preferably including commissioning, start-up and handover within process plant, energy infrastructure or similar complex operating environments. You will bring: Ideally 15 years, in major industrial construction environments, including construction, commissioning, start-up and handover phases Tertiary qualification in engineering or a relevant construction/project delivery discipline - highly regarded or equivalent experience Strong process plant or major energy infrastructure experience Broad multi-discipline understanding across mechanical, electrical, instrumentation, process and operations interfaces Proven capability overseeing EPC contractors and subcontractors in a contractor-led site environment Strong HSE leadership and practical understanding of safe systems of work, permits and risk controls Experience with commissioning, operational readiness, pre-start-up safety reviews and handover to operations Strong stakeholder engagement skills, including the ability to influence outcomes in a complex, non-hierarchical site environment Clear communication style, sound judgement and the ability to manage ambiguity, conflict and competing priorities Experience across hydrogen, renewable energy, power generation, chemical processing, LNG, resources, utilities or other major industrial infrastructure environments will be highly regarded.
