Senior Systems Engineer Edinburgh / Adelaide 6 Months Contract An immediate opportunity for an experienced Senior Systems Engineer to join a high-profile defence program through to October 2026. The role is embedded with the Commonwealth at Edinburgh, providing senior-level systems engineering services across requirements, integration, verification and validation. What you’ll be doing Develop, deliver and maintain Functional Baseline (FBL), Allocated Baseline (ABL) and Interface Requirement Specifications (IRS) in DOORS, including full requirements traceability across a holistic DOORS database Perform system design activities including trade studies to ensure architectural compatibility and consistency across all subsystems against performance requirements Conduct V&V activities — writing procedures, inspection and analysis reports, and conducting or witnessing demonstration and test events Develop and maintain Verification Cross Reference Matrix (VCRM) parts 1 and 2 for FBL, ABL and IRS specifications in DOORS Develop and manage Engineering Change Proposals (ECPs) and Requests for Problem Resolution (RPRs) to support pre-engineered change packages Participate in working groups to coordinate ship infrastructure design and installation Prepare and deliver documentation, presentations and review materials for System Reviews What you'll bring Degree qualification in a relevant engineering discipline, or equivalent industry experience Minimum 4 years of relevant systems engineering experience Demonstrated hands-on competency with DOORS — a non-negotiable for this role Practical knowledge of relevant programs and systems with the ability to apply and enhance that knowledge in daily delivery To be considered for the Senior Systems Engineer role, please submit your current CV.
