The Opportunity In this role, you will support the delivery of high-quality communications and stakeholder engagement for a strategically significant policy agenda, shaping how Australia’s priorities are understood by domestic and international audiences. Working closely with senior executives, ministers’ offices, policy teams and external stakeholders, you will help deliver integrated communications and engagement strategies that strengthen influence, build trusted partnerships, and deliver measurable outcomes. Contribute to regional and global initiatives that advance Australia’s interests and strengthen its international engagement, reputation, and partnerships Support the design and delivery of integrated communications and stakeholder engagement strategies aligned to broader policy objectives The Role Support the development and delivery of communication strategies that promote and implement the government’s international development policy Translate complex policy and technical information into clear, accessible materials for Ministers and departmental audiences across digital, social, campaign, and multimedia channels Coordinate stakeholder engagement activities and support the delivery of high-quality events involving domestic and international partners. Assist with the project management of integrated communications and engagement activities aligned with broader strategic priorities Support media relations activities, including media monitoring, reporting, liaison, and preparation of briefings and responses Prepare clear, high-quality written communications, including briefings and content for internal and external audiences across domestic and international contexts The Ideal Person You will have tertiary qualifications in communications, public relations, media and/or more experience working at the APS5 - APS6 equivalent level in a media, policy and/or communications role. You will also have the following skills/capabilities: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage diverse audiences and build strong relationships with stakeholders at all levels Strong organisational and time management skills, with the ability to manage complex tasks, meet deadlines, and work independently Strategic thinking and analytical abilities to shape work to achieve organisational objectives and deliver high-quality outcomes A collaborative and adaptable approach, maintaining professionalism under pressure and embracing continuous improvement Salary / Rate Location: Canberra only APS5 – $50/hr - $60/hr 12% Super APS6 - $65/hr - $75/hr 12% Super Engagement will be via labour-hire contract NV2 clearance will be a requirement to be considered for this role How to Apply To apply online, please click on the appropriate link.
