Role description: Arcadis has opened an opportunity for Risk Manager / Senior Risk Manager roles to support regulated asset owners, including airports, transport authorities, utilities, energy networks and government‑owned infrastructure organisations delivering complex capital portfolios within live operational environments. You will play a key role in shaping the successful delivery of major infrastructure programmes across Australia. In this role, you will operate as a trusted risk and assurance partner to Capital Delivery, Project Controls, Enterprise Risk, Operations and senior executives. You will support improved decision‑making, reduced delivery disruption, and stronger cost, schedule and operational certainty across safety‑critical and highly regulated environments. You will lead structured assessments of project and portfolio risk practices, governance, tools and culture, and develop practical, prioritised uplift roadmaps aligned to the organisation’s regulatory obligations, risk appetite and operational context. The role combines assessment, advisory, uplift and culture‑building activities, embedding risk more effectively into day‑to‑day project controls, forecasting, assurance and enterprise risk processes. At senior level, you will act as a trusted advisor to executives, bridging project risk, enterprise risk, operational risk and resilience, and supporting asset owners to strengthen capital delivery outcomes while maintaining operational continuity and regulatory compliance. This role offers the opportunity to contribute to high‑impact projects while being part of Arcadis’ growing, globally connected Risk Management practice. Role accountabilities: Deliver embedded and strategic risk management services across regulated asset owner capital portfolios, including airports, transport networks, utilities, ports and energy infrastructure. Undertake structured assessments of project and portfolio risk maturity, including risk registers, governance, tools, assurance processes and cultural behaviours. Review the consistency, effectiveness and decision‑usefulness of risk information used by Executive Teams, Boards and Capital Governance Committees. Develop practical, prioritised risk uplift roadmaps proportionate to asset criticality, regulatory scrutiny and portfolio complexity. Facilitate risk workshops with Project Managers, Development, Delivery, Operations, Safety, Assurance and Enterprise Risk stakeholders. Strengthen the linkage between risk, contingency, forecasting, cost and schedule, supporting confident capital investment and delivery decisions. Assess how risk is embedded in: Capital governance, approvals and stage‑gate processes Project controls, forecasting and assurance Operational readiness, staging and transition to operations Review and enhance risk escalation and assurance pathways between project, portfolio and enterprise risk functions. Support alignment between project risk and enterprise / operational risk, including resilience, safety and regulatory initiatives. Identify opportunities for advanced risk techniques such as portfolio‑level aggregation, trend analysis and enterprise‑level insights. Design and deliver targeted, practical risk training tailored to varying levels of delivery and operational risk maturity. Coach teams to strengthen ownership of risks, mitigation actions and follow‑through in high‑consequence environments. At Senior Risk Manager level, act as a technical authority and trusted advisor, supporting executive engagement and positioning Arcadis as a long‑term partner to regulated asset owners. Qualification & Experience: Risk Manager 3 years’ experience in project or portfolio risk management within regulated asset owner environments such as airports, transport, utilities or energy. Experience reviewing and improving risk registers, processes and governance within capital delivery settings. Practical experience facilitating workshops across delivery, operational and assurance stakeholders. Senior Risk Manager 5 years’ experience delivering risk management services across complex capital portfolios for regulated or safety‑critical organisations. Demonstrated experience assessing risk maturity and delivering pragmatic uplift roadmaps. Proven ability to operate credibly with senior executives and regulators in high‑scrutiny environments. For all roles: Strong understanding of risk frameworks, governance and assurance in regulated settings. Exceptional attention to detail with a focus on data quality, insight and decision relevance. Experience integrating risk with project controls, contingency, forecasting and executive reporting. Strong communicator with a collaborative, solutions‑focused consulting mindset. Desirable Experience & Qualifications Experience working with airport operators, transport authorities, utilities, energy networks or government‑owned corporations. Understanding of safety‑critical operations, regulatory compliance and assurance‑driven decision‑making. Professional certifications (APM Risk, IRM, PMP, PRINCE2 or similar). Membership of a recognised professional risk management body (RMIA, IRM, PRMIA, GARP). Experience aligning capital project risk with enterprise and operational risk frameworks. Familiarity with planning tools such as Primavera P6 or Microsoft Project. Experience using data visualisation tools such as Power BI or Tableau. Why Arcadis?
