About the Role Reporting into the Perioperative leadership team, you will take full responsibility for the operational management, leadership, and performance of the CSSD department . You will ensure compliance lead a high-performing team to deliver safe, efficient, and compliant sterilisation services across the organisation. Key Responsibilities Leadership & Team Management Lead, mentor and develop a team of CSSD professionals Oversee rostering, workforce planning, and daily operations Foster a positive, accountable and high-performing team culture Support training, onboarding, and ongoing staff development Operational Excellence Oversee all sterilisation processes including cleaning, packing, sterilising and distribution Ensure strict adherence to infection control standards and policies Manage department resources including stock, equipment, and supplies Maintain accurate documentation and reporting systems Quality & Compliance Ensure full compliance with AS 5369 and relevant regulatory standards Monitor steriliser testing, maintenance, and audit processes Lead quality improvement initiatives and accreditation readiness Manage risk, incident reporting, and continuous improvement activities Stakeholder Engagement Collaborate closely with perioperative teams and broader clinical staff Liaise with suppliers and service providers Contribute to service planning, equipment procurement, and operational improvements About You You are a hands-on leader with strong technical expertise and a passion for driving standards in sterilisation services. Essential: Certificate III in Sterilisation Services (Cert IV highly regarded) Demonstrated leadership experience within CSSD or similar environment Strong knowledge of AS 5369 and infection control practices Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills Ability to manage competing priorities in a fast-paced setting Sound problem-solving, decision-making, and organisational skills Proficiency in Microsoft Office Desirable: Previous experience in a CSSD leadership or management role Tertiary qualifications in management or leadership Why This Opportunity?
