Mission & Leadership Development (“MLD”) is the Uniting Church’s centre for leadership, discipleship and ministry training in South Australia. It comprises the following ministry centres: Uniting College for Leadership & Theology (“UCLT”) which provides high quality, accessible education for all people: lay people and those preparing for ordination and other specified ministries within the Uniting Church. Mission Resourcing which supports local church development and ministry across South Australia. The Mission & Leadership Development Board (“MLDB”) supports the Uniting Church SA’s vision of developing healthy missional churches and educating future leaders. The MLDB oversees the education provision of UCLT (a member of the University of Divinity) and diverse activities of Mission Resourcing. An excellent opportunity exists for a fixed-term part-time (0.6FTE – 0.7FTE) position within MLD, for a dynamic and motivated Business Manager. The Business Manager (Finance and Development) will report directly to the Executive Officer/Principal, UCLT and to the General Manager, Investments and Finance in accordance with the specific requirements outlined in the Position Description. The Business Manager (Finance and Development) will provide leadership in the provision of quality financial and business services and business development to ensure the fulfilment of the purposes of the MLDB. This will include financial and business management support to the Executive Officers of UCLT and Mission Resourcing and active engagement in marketing strategies of UCLT. It will also include oversight of the property management of Yarthu Apinthi (the Brooklyn Park campus of the UCA Synod of SA). The successful applicant will demonstrate knowledge and experience in financial and business management. This will include preparing and monitoring annual budgets; assessing, monitoring and implementing systems and resourcing; demonstrating a commitment to compliance and governance, and experience with property infrastructure. It is also desirable that the Business Manager (Finance and Development) will have experience in developing successful marketing strategies. A qualification in Business, Commerce or other related discipline or equivalent business experience is essential.
