About the Role As an Electrical Design Draftsperson at Wilmar Sugar & Renewables you will be involved in all aspects of the electrical design and drawing process across a wide array of projects including locomotive upgrades, PLC and MCC upgrades, High Voltage RMU upgrades, general arrangements and everything in between! This is a varied role offering exposure to a wide range of industrial equipment and systems, making it an excellent opportunity for someone who enjoys technical variety and hands-on project involvement. Role Responsibilities Deliver accurate design and drafting support across capital, maintenance, and improvement projects Produce and maintain engineering drawings, schematics, and technical documentation Conduct site inspections, investigations, and engineering calculations to support practical design solutions Provide technical input into project scope, design reviews, and continuous improvement initiatives Ensure designs meet safety, business, and industry standards while maintaining accurate drawing records About you Essential Proven drafting experience within a heavy industrial or manufacturing environment Strong proficiency in AutoCAD Ability to interpret technical drawings, specifications, and engineering documentation accurately Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to develop practical design solutions Strong attention to detail, organisation, and ability to manage multiple projects to deadlines Desirable Formal qualifications in Drafting (Certificate level or higher) or equivalent practical experience Tertiary qualifications in Engineering or a relevant trade background Experience within the sugar, manufacturing, processing, or similar heavy industry sectors Exposure to maintenance, capital projects, or operational improvement work environments Interest in continuous improvement, technical development, and long-term career progression Why work for Wilmar We want people who take pride in their work, enjoy building connections, and value opportunities to grow their career in a dynamic, future-focused organisation.
